Find Gaps !

A Gap is a quotation hole, a space in which there has been no exchange, it could be bullish or bearish. The gaps are classified into 4 categories :

• Common Gap, not significant and generally closed (filled) failry quickly,
• Breakaway Gap, indicating a change in trend or a breakout from an area of congestion,
• Continuation Gap, while in an established trend, the gap confirms the strength of the trend,
• Exhaustion Gap, appears at the end of a trend.

Description

Screening the market for stocks with an open bullish or bearish gap in the last X candles. Stockprice must be at a defined distance from the gap, or making a pullback to the gap (according to your settings).

Results are ranked as :

• 1  = pullback on bearish gap
• 2 = pullback on bullish gap
• 10XX = bearish gap detected, XX is the distance from the gap counted in candles,
• 20XX = bearish gap detected, XX is the distance from the gap counted in candles.

Settings can be adjusted to search gaps meeting your own criteria. All these settings are made without modifying the code, in a very simple way in the variable menu of the screener.

Adjustable criteria :

• Number of scanned candlesticks,
• Minimum gap height,
• Minimum and maximum distance from stockprice to the gap,
• Detection limit for pullbacks.

Available filters :

• Bullish gap,
• Bearish gap,
• Stockprice must be above a defined moving average (EMA / SMA),
• Scanning for pullback on bullish / bearish gap.

General filter :

• Minimum stock price,
• Minimum average volume,
• Average volume expressed in transaction number or in capital exchanged
